Sheila Tolley RWA was born in Birmingham 1939 and now lives in the West Country of England.
She has been a regular exhibitor at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibitions, the Royal Institute of Oil Painters and the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours since 1978. She became a full member of the Royal West of England Academy in 1992 and is now a Senior Academician. She was included in the Seven Academicians (RA & RWA) Members Exhibition in 1996. A twice-winner of the Cornelissen Painting Prize she has exhibited at numerous other galleries both at home and overseas.
As a professional artist Sheila embraces a wide range of skills in all forms of art media and print making.
She is also a creative spiritual writer, poet, pianist, church organist and chorister attending St Andrew’s and Corpus Christi Churches in Boscombe. Sheila’s life journey has encompassed yoga, meditation, ‘Bach Flower Remedies’ and spiritual healing. Sheila actively participates regularly with a Julian of Norwich Group.
Her work is simply formed observations of colour, texture, balance and harmony found in her natural surroundings.
