Description
A pair of spectacular late 17th / early 18th century carved wood fireplace elements.
They have been superbly carved into the form of a male and female corbel, which would have once supported the top of the fireplace.
These very rare carvings have been in a private collection for 25 years, they are reputedly from Bosuns Locker Hotel, Penzance, Cornwall.
Both jambs are beautifully aged, and show signs of wear and losses consistent with their age and use.
