Tales from an upholsterer

When we collected this chair from our upholsterer he informed us of the wonderful piece of history this little chair holds. Inside is a note which reads as follows
‘This chair was reupholstered on the Kaisers birthday 1915. He received his present from our navy on Sunday last. G Stewart c/o … Guild and Son. North Berwick.
This chair was recovered on Feb 16th 1943 Crieff The war still goes on The Russians just captured Rostov on Don Hitler said we were … but he forgot about the 51st. J. McRobie c/o Gilbert …’
Gerry, our upholsterer and the most recent person to leave his mark on this special chair tells us he left his own note in the chair which we decided to leave between him and the next time this chair goes on to tell another story.
This little trail of history started 106 years ago but this only tells half of this chairs story originally being made between 1760-1820, I wonder what the next 100 years holds.
