SHOP COUNTER

Period: 19th Century

Price: sold

Black later painted large Victorian shop counter with a fantastic one piece Mahogany top complete with original brass measuring tape which is stamped ‘Clements Newling and Co, 96 Wood St London. E.C.’

It has copious amounts of storage, which include an open shelved area and six drawers complete with wonderful original labels inside.

The front of the shelved section has two glass panels for viewing the contents, this glass could very easily be replaced with wood and painted to match the item if preferred.

This counter would have once been part of a larger piece, it has had one end replaced where it was cut down, although it isn’t overly obvious – at the same end it has a replacement corbel which isn’t a match to the other three.

This piece would make a glorious kitchen island or suit a multitude of commercial situations.
