Description
Exceptional and very handsome Georgian, circa 1760, Thames Valley region yew and elm Windsor armchair attributed to John Pitt and Richard Hewitt.
It is a generously proportioned and very comfortable chair. Its seat is carved from one piece of elm and has a one-piece steam bent horseshoe arm rest.
It is in overall very good condition, it has been well restored at some point, has a few old hairline cracks, small areas of historic woodworm and very small traces of old paint and it has had replacement stretchers in its history.
