Fred Dubery (1926 – 2011) was originally from Croydon in Surrey where he went to school, followed by national service in the Army. He then studied at Croydon Art School and then The Royal College of Art. He was a tutor at the Royal Academy Schools where he went on to become a Professor of Perspective. He also lectured in other eminent places and held one man shows and his work was exhibited widely.

He only ever painted what he found interesting and never ‘merely’ to sell.

Fred was devoted to the Suffolk landscape and also enjoyed travelling to France and Italy to paint and study the art.
